It has important shipping lanes supplying Chicago, Milwaukee and other cities.

Goshen

Chris had a medical problem. 

Our travel insurance company were noncommittal in accepting our request to have tests and procedures carried out in America.
It was serious enough for her to break her trip and travel back to Australia for medical tests. 

We had booked in to the Keystone factory
to have a few warranty issues attended to. 

This was organised prior to the start of the
annual Montana Owners Club rally at Goshen IN. 

Keystone have a serviced area where clients can camp
whilst their rig is being attended to.

We were fortunate to meet the Wagon Masters, Jim & Bev and several other members of the group who were also in for repairs.

Unfortunately Chris could not stay for the rally but she was lucky to meet a few of the great people attending the Montana group during the 5 days we stayed at the factory.

They rally was the 10th annual rally and it promised to be legendary.

We were invited to the local dealership for dinner.


One of the activities was a Keystone factory tour to see the new Montana's being built.

Where's Rosco?

Goshen, Indiana is one of the cultural centres for the Amish and Mennonite churches.

Their beliefs encourage them to follow simple customs and refuse to take oaths, vote, or perform military service. They shun modern technology and conveniences. They do not have electricity or telephones in their homes. The men usually wear beards and pants with buttons instead of zippers. The women wear white head coverings and plain dresses.

We were fortunate enough to have dinner with an Amish family in their home. 

The food was country style, simple and delicious.

We stopped to see the  Lost Canyon  and jumped on the back of a horse drawn cart for the canyon tour.

This guy had as dry of a sense of humour as he looks.

Wabash

National Eagle Centre

We visited the National Eagle Centre on the banks of the mighty Mississippi River in the pretty town of Wabash. MN


I found an Eagle feather and was going to put it in my hat until I found out there was a $250,000 fine plus 2 years in prison for possessing an eagle feather.
That's tough!

They have a number of Eagles and other birds and give visitors an educational insight of the birds.

I am in awe  of these magnificent birds of prey and it is a treat to view them up so close.

Wabash is a small quiet town with historic buildings and a beautiful river park.

These village clocks often feature in the centre of small towns.

It was just coming up to Halloween and pagan decorations were to be found everywhere.
