British Columbia

Map British Columbia

Jasper to Vancouver

Spahats Creek Falls in Wells Gray Provincial Park.

Spahats Creek.

Helmcken Falls in Wells Gray Provincial Park.
To date this is the most picturesque waterfall we have encountered.

A narrow section of Fraser River that restricts the fast flowing river thus creating a turbulent rapid.

There are a number of fishways to help the salmons upstream migration.

These aerial trams will give you a birds’ eye view of this historic landmark where 200 million gallons of water per minute thunder through this 33 metre wide passage.
“We had to travel where no human being should venture for surely we have encountered the gates of hell”. – Simon Fraser, 1808

Our delightful campsite. Lake Schkam, near Hope.

Vancouver, BC

We had not really encountered any rain since our arrival in North America in March.
As soon as we arrived in Vancouver the heavens opened and we were treated to 3 days of the wet stuff. We braved the weather to do a short sightseeing trip around the city and decided this was worth revisiting at a dryer time.

The Totem Poles at Stanley Park in the heart of the city.
