California

We arrived back in LA in March 2013. From there we rented a car and drove back to Palm Springs to pick up our rig.

Joshua Tree NP

As we were staying in Palm Springs we thought we should visit the nearby Joshua Tree National Park.

We stopped at Pioneertown in the Morongo Valley. This originated from a movie set built in the 1940's. It was used to film TV shows "The Cisco Kid" and "Judge Roy Bean". Note there is only our car in the car park. A good time of year to travel as there are no other tourists.

We chatted to one of the locals who told us about the unusual Joshua Tree.

The Joshua Tree flower.

A Joshua Tree forest.

Chris admires the unusual tree.

This is the tallest tree. 45 ft I think.

The park also has interesting rock formations. Look close to see the rock climber.
